At Clean Sweeps of Michigan, we travel through the state, cleaning and servicing the fireplaces and chimneys of our neighbors. Through our travels, we’ve been lucky enough to get to know the wonderful cities and towns of Michigan, and we’re excited to share what we’ve discovered with you! The Great Outdoors

As the Capital City of Michigan, it’s no wonder there is so much to do in Lansing. Just under two hours away from Detroit, Lansing sits on the Grand River and boasts scenic biking and hiking trails. Or bring your boat and rent a boat slip. Whether you’re a resident or not, you can enjoy the beautiful Grand River from April to December.

Shop ‘Til You Drop

Between the Eastwood Towne Center, the Lansing Mall and the Frandor Center, you’re bound to get your fill of shopping. And when your arms need a break from carrying all the bags, there are plenty of delicious restaurants to choose from.

The Lansing City Market

Take a stroll by the river and visit the historic Lansing City Market in downtown Lansing. Vendors in the market offer handmade pieces, fresh fruits and vegetables, and more. And the best part is you’ll get to meet the people that make Lansing what it is.

For only $7.00 per adult or student, and only $5.00 per preschooler, you can see a 7PM Friday show or a 3PM Saturday or Sunday show at the Mid Michigan Family Theatre. Interested in acting yourself? See The Wild

Love animals? See the otter pups and the rest of the wildlife at the Potter Park Zoo. Students grades 1-12 can even sign up for Summer Day Camp, where they’ll learn about wildlife the fun, hands-on way!

History Lesson

Originally occupied by Native Americans, Lansing went on to become the capital of Michigan in 1847, and has continuously grown ever since. For a trip through time, check out one of the many museums Lansing has to offer.

At Clean Sweeps of Michigan, one of our favorite things about our jobs is that we get to travel throughout the great state of Michigan. While visiting our neighbors in Chelsea, Michigan, we’ve learned so much about all of the great attractions and fun things to do, and we’d like to share some of them with you. Tour The Chelsea Milling Company In A Jiffy

Did you know that the Chelsea Milling Company has been milling and preparing “Jiffy” mixes in Chelsea since the early 1800s? To tour the factory (for free!) and see and taste a little bit of history, be sure to call ahead and make reservations. Fun For The Whole Family

Worried about the husband? Chelsea is also home to the Pierce Lake Golf Course, an 18-hole golf course for all skill levels. And the kids won’t have time to be bored when they’re visiting Timbertown Park, a 12,000 square foot wooden play structure, or skating at the Arctic Colliseum & The Arctic Breakaway. There’s even a DJ skate on Saturday nights.

The Early Days

Cyrus Beckwith was the first settler in Chelsea, Michigan, and moved to the area in 1830 after purchasing land from the U.S. Government the year before. When you visit, don’t forget to check out the horse barn he built, which is still standing.
